Preceded by Chautauqua's Old First Night birthday celebration and vespers service at 6:45 p.m., this dazzling show includes the death-defying aerial feats of Viktoria Grimmy, ringmaster and juggler Michael DuBois, comedian ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger, and spell-binding magician Kid Ace. Viktoria Grimmy is a fifth-generation circus performer from the original Broadway cast of Pippin. Michael DuBois is an internationally recognized juggler and slack-rope walker. Lynn Trefzger and her trunk of comical characters has performed worldwide and is a favorite with Disney Entertainment. David Boyd, aka Kid Ace, has a pulse on the culture, seamlessly blending modern music and fashion with the world of illusion. The Silkroad Ensemble

The Grammy Award-winning Silkroad Ensemble represents dozens of nationalities and artistic traditions, from Spain and Japan to Syria and the United States. The Ensemble is a musical collective that appears in many configurations and settings, from intimate groups of two and three in museum galleries to rousing complements of 18 in concert halls, public squares, and amphitheaters. The Ensemble performs throughout the world, and has recorded six albums. Its Grammy Award-winning album, Sing Me Home, was developed and recorded alongside a 2016 documentary feature about Silkroad, "The Music of Strangers," which will be shown as part of Silkroad's enticing week at Chautauqua.
