Young Writers Institute
Ages 14 to 18
The Young Writers Institute is a five-day immersive, multi-genre creative writing camp for students 14 to 18 years old. Through short exercises, workshops and close study of work by contemporary writers, students will develop their command of the core elements of fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Led by an exceptional faculty of published teaching artists with deep experience mentoring young writers, each student will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with them to develop a plan for future growth. Each day (Monday through Friday) begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. with breaks for meals and independent writing. Available Weeks Three and Four only. Visit chq.org/youngwriters for more information.

- Children may walk and/or ride a bike with an adult to Children’s School.
- Children’s School has a bus service available for children enrolled in the program (or in Group One in the mornings).
Take your child to Children’s School/Group One on his/her first day. The classroom teacher will give your child a bus tag which will state your child’s name and bus stop information.
Buses are staffed with adult bus monitors who ride with the children and check bus tags to assure that each child gets off the bus at the correct stop. An adult must be there to meet the child at the assigned stop.
